Hello Kamel, illegal immigrants closely related to U.S. citizens would no longer have to leave the country to try to obtain legal status under a proposed change in immigration policy announced. Currently, immigrants who are married to citizens and wish to apply for legal status must first go back to their own country if they entered the U.S. illegally. Proposed change would allow illegal immigrants to ask for a waiver from inside the United States and if successful that would help them to apply for residency

Perry is the only candidate that has been playing his cards correctly on the Latino vote. Most other candidates when asked about the Latino constituency turn into the issue of ‘illegals’ and that is the fastest way to lost the increasingly large Latino vote.

I have one question only. First there was a serious problem with your lottery system, and OK, we were waiting while it was fixed, and now when it is finally there, I have found one new mistake. No matter what I type in the Confirmation number field as long as it contains 12 characters it always pops same note, that I have not been selected. Supposedly there has to be a system-generated number (number of certain structure e.g. 3 number 5 letters etc.)? So that when entering any 12 digit number inappropriate structure you automatically receive a message that you entered invalid number? Thus I am not sure that my number is actually declined.

Dear mister Olivie,

First of all, thank you incredibly much for providing insight into the obscure, confusing world of immigration into the USA. Thank you also for your internationalist approach and your efforts to help the people who most attorneys, it seems, would rather neglect.

I am a Dutch citizen, my fiancee is American living in West Seattle. I am currently living in my home country the Netherlands, but come September I will be on a three-month visit through the Visa Waiver program.

My question regarding this article, Proving a Bona Fide Marriage, is the following.

Nowhere in your entry do you speak of a fiancee visa or a visa for a spouse. Could you tell us whether it is possible for us to marry during my stay and then try to prove it to be bona fide (which should not be a problem) in order for me to obtain permanent resident status or a green card, WITHOUT first coming in on a fiancee visa? Is it even legal for us to marry in the USA if I did not come in on such a visa?

Subsequently, if I come in on no special visa, and we decide to marry and manage to prove our love, relationship and marriage to be bona fide, would I still have to return to the Netherlands and come back on a Spouse/Relative of an American citizen visa, or could I perhaps stay?

Its the 15th of July today and I would like to check my visa status for the diversity lottery programm, could you perhaps send me the link, I went online and it still gives the info of it being revocked etc.
